WORK ONE-ON-ONE
A close read, or a real conversation.
Book a single session when you need a reader in your corner, on the page, or anywhere around it. No membership required, but members take 10% off.
Manuscript Conference
$200
You have the pages and you want a serious reader. Send 10-25 pages in advance; we read closely and come to the hour with real notes.
— A close read of your pages, with written notes to keep
— A 60-minute conversation about line and structure
— A clear sense of what’s landing and what to do next
• 10-25 PAGES • 60 MIN • PAGES IN ADVANCE
Best for a story, a chapter, or an opening you want eyes on
Project Conversation
$150
Sometimes the question isn’t on the page. A 60-minute conversation about whatever you’re working on, or working through. No pages required.
— Revision strategy for a draft that’s stalled
— A stuck novel, an agent question, a submission plan
— A career decision you want to talk through
• 60 MIN • NO PAGES REQUIRED
Best when the thing you need isn’t a line edit
Book Coaching & Developmental Editing
One book, one editor, over months. This is for the manuscript you’re serious about finishing—a novel, a collection, a memoir—where you want one editor holding the whole arc, not a one-off read of a chapter.
This is the deep-end option. Sustained developmental work on a single project, with someone who remembers chapter three while you’re revising chapter nineteen.
TYPICALLY
$1,200-1,800/quarter
The exact number depends on the manuscript and scope. We’ll settle it together before anything starts. No hidden number, no surprise.
Tell us about the book. We’ll see if it’s a fit.
WHAT A QUARTER INCLUDES
— A three-month term, built around your manuscript
— Up to ~50 pages read closely each month, with editorial notes in the margins
— Two one-hour calls a month to work through the pages and the plan
— Email access between calls for quick questions
HOW A SESSION WORKS
01 — BOOK IT
Pick a session and pay.
Choose a Manuscript Conference or Project Conversation, pay and pick a time that works. That’s the whole sign-up. No application, no back-and-forth.
02 — SEND, OR DON’T
Get the material ready.
For a Manuscript Conference, send 10-25 pages a few days ahead so they can be read closely. For a Project Conversation, just come with what’s on your mind.
03 — MEET
An hour on video.
We meet for a full hour and talk it through. For a Manuscript Conference, you keep the written notes afterward.
MEMBERS SAVE 10%
One-on-one is even better with a community behind it. Members take 10% off every Manuscript Conference and Project Conversation.
These sessions are the close read; membership is the year-round habit that keeps the pages coming. Most writers end up wanting both.
